Computer Workstation Assessment and Training

David Annett is a Yorkshire based consultant but works regularly in London. He has over 15 years experience, specialising in work-related injuries. Through training, assessment and use of the correct equipment, work-related injury such as Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) can be resolved or prevented in line with the European Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Regulations. This applies to computer users, manual workers and all work areas. Good training and assessments can not only prevent injuries, but also improve user comfort and job satisfaction, increase productivity and reduce absenteeism.

David is also a registered practising Osteopath so is able to give advice to people who are suffering from any discomfort, to help them reduce their symptoms and return to work as soon as possible.

Computer Workstation Assessments

It is important that staff understand the risks of computer working. A presentation is given that outlines the regulations, mechanisms of injury, principals of good posture, correct workstation set up and advice on breaks. This is followed by individual workstation assessments where each person is observed and advice is given to improve the set up or posture. Any special equipment needed can be recommended at this stage and a summary report provided. David has undertaken office ergonomics for many companies including The Carbon Trust, NHS, Accenture and Chevron Oil UK, as well as many smaller charities, solicitors, design and advertising agencies. David works with other associates in ergonomics, design and engineering; so is able to deal with larger projects. David is a registered Member and Registered Consultancy with the Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors.
